NEW: 4-jaw chuck with increased gripping force
Our wide product range comprises 4-jaw independent chucks made with steel bodies designed for machining operations requiring high gripping forces (e.g. for the machining of crankshafts, turbine rotors, etc.).
Both square and round parts may be clamped with the chuck jaws. Due to the force of over 20.000 daN per jaw, large cutting torques at relatively small clamping diameters may be obtained.
The chucks can be used to perform different operations, in such detail as the rolls, large crankshafts, turbine rotors, etc. The steel body ensures a longer lifetime, greater stiffness and resistance to wear, while the four jaws allow for precise centering of rectangular pieces with maximum gripping forces.
Moreover the T-slots made in the chuck body provide for the use of additional clamps. Installation on the machine tool spindle is direct with the use of short taper type A.
The jaw guides made in the steel body are hardened to 50 HRC. The master and top jaws are made of stainless steel of high quality. They are case-hardened and tempered to a hardness of 56 to 60 HRC. That type of performance guarantees a very long lifetime of the chuck. Very high gripping forces are obtained by adopting JAKOB power screws positioned in the jaws guideways. These power screws assure the highest performance having the best technical parameters in the world.
Optimal design of the chuck allows to take full advantage of the technical features of the power screws. Therefore using relatively little torque on the wrench, i.e. 110Nm, it is possible to achieve a gripping force on each jaw of over 20.000 daN.
Precision centre with run-out of 0.003mm allows for exact centering of the work piece before clamping it with a large gripping force, allowing for high precision operations at enormous weights while being time-effective at the same time.
For working with parts with a large unbalance as for example crank shafts, the chuck has a system of counterweights to provide for additional stability and safety.
